Ever changing weather and seasons infuse the landscape with different light, colors and conditions that make it a daily challenge for David to capture these landscapes in his work. Rosenthal excels in creating oil paintings that show the beauty of mountains, glaciers, ice and water from around South Central Alaska. These galleries show work created as early as 1977 to the present 2014. Daily you might find David outside sketching during a break from a hike, walk , run, skate, ski, bike ride or gathering firewood. These sketches then become a painting that distil a scene to canvas and cause the viewers to viscerally feel the beauty that has been captured.
