Paintings of the arctic landscape are from many places in the Arctic but mostly from northern parts of North America. David traveled to Greenland, the northwest passage and the polar ice above Spitsbergen as part of the U S Coast Guard Art Program, and spent three months at Summit Camp on the Greenland Ice Cap working for the National Science Foundation contractor.
