As part of the National Science Foundation Antarctic Artist and Writers program David spent most of a winter at Palmer Station on the Antarctic Peninsula. When not riding on the research ship he would hike around on the glacier above the station and on the two rocky peninsulas that frame Hero Inlet, the edge of which is where Palmer Station is located. David also had the opportunity to get out in the surrounding area by Zodiac and enjoy the scenery and winter light. Here are images of some of the resulting paintings. |
